What personally identifiable information does Pride Mobility collect from me?
Pride Mobility collects information in several ways. Some personal information is gathered when you register for our public community, Pride Web Talk, for instance. During registration, Pride Mobility asks for your name and email address.
In addition to registration we may ask you for personal information at other times, including, but not limited to your name, address and telephone number, when you purchase one of our products at Pride Gear, when you register the warranty on one of our products and if you contact us about a problem with one of our products. If you contact Pride Mobility or purchase a Pride Gear product from Pride Mobility’s website, we or one may keep a record of any personal information you provide us. Wherever Pride Mobility collects personal information we make an effort to include a link to this Privacy Policy on that page as well as all other pages at our Owners Club website.
What are cookies and how does Pride Mobility use them?
You may have heard of cookies that are collected at websites to store and sometimes track information about a user of the website. Cookies are used on various Pride Mobility websites to store session data and validate logins. Pride Mobility does not use cookies to store personally identifiable information.
How does Pride Mobility use my information?
Pride Mobility's primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide you, the user, with a customized browsing experience. This includes personalization services, interactive communications, online ability to interact with other users of Pride Mobility products and others in the Pride Mobility public community, all of which is completely free to you.
Who is collecting information?
When you are using Pride Mobility’s website and are asked for or provide personal information, you are sharing that information with Pride Mobility alone, unless it is specifically stated otherwise or you choose to make that information accessible in the Pride Web Talk public community section of our website. If data is being collected and/or maintained by any company other than Pride Mobility, you will be notified prior to the time of the data collection or transfer. If you do not want your data to be shared, you can choose not to allow the transfer by not using that particular service.
With whom does Pride Mobility share my information?
As a general rule, Pride Mobility will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it or under the circumstances described below. The following describes some of the ways that your information may be disclosed.
Pride Mobility may disclose account information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating Pride Mobility's Terms of Use or may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) Pride Mobility's rights or property, other Pride Mobility users, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. Pride Mobility may disclose or access account information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it and for administrative and other purposes that we deem necessary to maintain, service, and improve our products and services.
Pride Mobility uses a third-party, Small World Labs, to host the Owners Club. Small World Labs maintains safeguards to ensure that: 1) only information from the Owners Club is made available to users of the Owners Club and to 2) that information from the Owners Club is provided only to members of the Owners Club.
What are my choices regarding collection, use, and distribution of my information?
Pride Mobility may, from time to time, send you email regarding our products and services. In addition, if you indicated upon registration that you are interested in receiving offers or information from Pride Mobility, we may occasionally send you direct mail about products and services that we feel may be of interest to you. Only Pride Mobility (or agents working on behalf of Pride Mobility and under confidentiality agreements) will send you these direct mailings and only if you indicated that you do not object to these offers. If you do not want to receive such mailings, simply tell us when you give us your personal information. You will need your Pride Mobility ID and Password in order to access the public community. You can also notify us at ownersclub@pridemobility.com.
Pride Mobility does not sell or rent user information to anyone. We will notify you at the time of data collection or transfer if your data will be shared with a third party and you will always have the option of not permitting the transfer. If you do not wish to allow your data to be shared, you can choose not to use a particular service or to notify us at ownersclub@pridemobility.com.
What is Pride Mobility's policy on allowing me to update, correct, or delete my personally identifiable information?
You may edit your Pride Mobility personally identifiable information at any time by logging in using your Pride Mobility Owner's Club ID and password and editing your profile settings under the MY HOME tab. If you have forgotten your password, please click here to request a new password.
How does Pride Mobility protect my personal financial and health-related information?
Keeping your personal financial information private is vitally important to us.
Knowing that you use certain services or certain products helps us to offer you better and more relevant information. But as with all personally identifiable information, we do not make this available to any third parties without your permission.
Please note that Pride Gear section of the Pride Mobility website requests you to transmit credit card information in order to complete a purchase transaction. Any time we ask for a credit card number, we transmit that credit card number in an encrypted format. We use industry standard, SSL (secure socket layer) encryption, for all additional personally identifiable information you provide to us, as well.
What security precautions are in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of my information?
Your Pride Mobility public community information is password protected so that you and only you have access to this personal information. You may edit your Pride Mobility personal information by using your Pride Mobility ID and password. The amount, if any, of personally identifiable information disclosed to others in the public community is entirely under your control. All other personally identifiable information that you disclose to us is secured through SSL encryption and is not shared with others without your permission.
We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone. Pride Mobility will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited email. Also remember to sign out of your Pride Mobility public community account and close your browser window when you have finished your work. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personally identifiable information if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet cafe.
As a global company Pride Mobility has international sites and users all over the world. When you give Pride Mobility personal information, that information may be sent electronically to servers outside of the country where you originally entered the information, such as to the United States or other countries. In addition, that information may be used, stored and processed outside of the country where you entered that information. Whenever Pride Mobility handles personal information as described above, regardless of where this occurs, Pride Mobility takes steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with the relevant Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, Pride Mobility cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online products or services, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
Additionally, our website contains links to other websites not owned or operated by us. In supplying personally identifiable information at any of these websites, you should keep in mind that these other websites might have privacy policies that differ from ours
What about children's privacy?
Naturally, the safety of children is very important to us. Pride Mobility is a general audience website. Children should always ask a parent for permission before sending personally identifiable information to anyone online. Pride Mobility does not direct this website to children under age 13 and does not share, sell or rent personal information about users under the age of 13 with third parties. In addition, Pride Mobility will not send any direct email offers to users who indicate they are under the age of 13.
What else should I know about my privacy?
Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online, for example on message boards, through email, or in chat areas, including in the Pride Mobility public community, that information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and/or any account information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you're online.
Your California Privacy Rights
As of January 1, 2005, California Civil Code section 1798.83 permits customers of the Pride Mobility who are California residents to request certain information regarding the Pride Mobility's disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes
